First 24 Hours

  1. Leave the bandage on for 2 hours only.

  2. After 2 hours, carefully remove the bandage and do not re-bandage again.

  3. Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your tattoo.

  4. Gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and mild, fragrance-free antibacterial soap. Use your hand, not a washcloth or sponge.

  5. Pat dry with a clean paper towel—do not rub.

Ongoing Care (First 2–3 Weeks)

  1. Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free, tattoo-specific ointment or unscented lotion (such as Aquaphor or a tattoo balm recommended by your artist). Do this 2–3 times per day—just enough to keep the skin slightly moisturized, not smothered.

  2. Wash the tattoo once or twice daily with mild soap and lukewarm water.

  3. Expect light peeling and flaking, similar to a sunburn. Do not pick or scratch—let the skin shed naturally.

  4. Avoid tight or abrasive clothing that might rub against the tattoo.

What to Avoid

  • No submerging in water: avoid pools, hot tubs, saunas, and baths for at least 2–3 weeks. Quick showers are fine.

  • No direct sun exposure: keep your tattoo covered or use clothing as protection during the healing phase.

  • No tanning beds while healing.

  • Do not use Vaseline, Neosporin, or scented lotions—these can trap bacteria or irritate the skin.

Long-Term Care

  • Always apply sunscreen (SPF 30+) to your tattoo once it’s healed to protect against fading.

  • Keep your skin healthy and moisturized year-round to maintain the vibrancy of your tattoo.

⚠️ Important: If you notice signs of infection—such as excessive redness, swelling, pus, or severe pain—contact a medical professional immediately.
